Social Submitter vs Bookmaring Demon
I’ve been using Social Submitter and Bookmarking Demon for about six months now. Thought I would share some of my thoughts on both, since Perry Belcher mentioned them in the Social Bookmarking Module of the Social Media Money System.
Positives
- Sets up accounts automatically
- Randomly selects accounts to submit (if you have multiple accounts for each site)
- Can include RSS feeds automatically from other sites so content isn’t all from one site/on one topic!
- Can increase time between submissions and sites, so ‘posting’ appears more natural
- Can easily post from proxy servers
- Free updates
- Lots of settings can be altered (including percentage of tags used)
- Can (and suggested to) submit multiple articles as once
Negatives
- Doesn’t give ranking of sites
- Doesn’t have some top social bookmarking sites (although this should be remedied in BMD 5 coming soon)
- Software not updated very often (I’ve had one in six months)
Positives
- All sites ranked (so you know which sites to really focus on or follow up if submission fails)
- Updated every week or two (new sites added, old removed, program updated)
- Has many. many times more sites than Bookmarking Demon
- Has many non-english sites
- Submits very quickly (all sites within minutes)
Negatives
- Doesn’t set up accounts automatically (but you can buy set up accounts relatively cheaply!)
- Can only submit one article per run.
- Not very flexible in terms of settings
Tips for both of these programs
- Don’t worry about getting 100% submission to all sites. there is a number of reasons sites may reject articles;
1. If they have already been submitted,
2. There are very similar to existing articles
3. You have reached the quota for submission to that website (usually daily but some are up to 72 hours!)
- Take a few hours and watch the demo videos (they both have great ones), it will make your time much more efficient.
- Use the {} and | symbols to give multiple options for words, thus making the articles look different between sites. Here’s an example that I use on my Unofficial Gordon Ramsay Fansite. Whenever I write an article instead of typing Gordon Ramsay ….. in the title, I post the following {Gordon Ramsay|Gordon Ramsey|Chef Gordon Ramsay|Chef Gordon Ramsey|Chef Ramsay|Chef Ramsey} – which gives me six different potential titles. I try to do this for most main words (sometimes using a thesaurus) and can often submit the same article and link to the bookmarking sites multiple times!
To be honest, I use both – either way, but them via credit card and you effectively get a 30 day trial! You can get the latest version Social Submitter from this link and Bookmarking Demon from this link.
Enjoy
